9/12/2012 - Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. -- Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. -The USAF New Horizons clarinet ensemble will perform in several communities in southeastern Kansas later this month during an eight-day community relations tour. Some of the towns they will visit include Pittsburg, Chanute, Newton, McPherson and Lindsborg. The five-member ensemble, consisting of four clarinetists plus brand new member SrA Gary Steinberg on percussion, will perform in three area high schools during the tour and in several larger venues for evening concerts.
New Horizons is sure to please music lovers of all ages. The group's repertoire consists of selections from traditional clarinet ensemble literature, transcriptions of polkas and patriotic favorites, to movie medleys, Broadway show tunes and pop and jazz favorites.
The group is looking forward to its second visit to Kansas this year, after a mission to support Wichita and McConnell Air Force Base area schools in January.
